DST/NRF Research Chair for Genomics and Bioinformatics of African Populations

Professor Michele Ramsay, DST/NRF Research Chair for Genomics and Bioinformatics of African Populations wishes to recruit postdoctoral fellows to study large African genome datasets (GWAS and WGS) to examine population structure and genome architecture, in addition to associations with cardiometabolic traits (including obesity, fasting glucose, insulin and lipid profiles with demographic, health history and behavioural data). The successful candidate needs strong bioinformatics background. We hope to appoint two positions, with complementary skills. Experience in population structure and the relevant genetics are highly desirable.
